I've had several people ask me which book it was that had me so out of whack! Well, this is it... The Dragon and the Rose.
If you haven't read Addison Moore's Celestra Series, I strongly recommend you do so. Celestra is a YA series built up of 9 books and 2 Novellas (I'll list all titles with links at the end). Here is a review I did about the first few books in the series:
Skyla Messenger has had her whole world turned upside-down. Her father died a horrible death, her mom has remarried a greedy A-hole, and to top it all off, she's been uprooted from her comfortable life in LA and forced to move to a tiny island up in Washington State... Paragon.
Skyla always knew there was something different about her. She has this uncanny ability to read people's minds, whenever she touches someone she can hear their thoughts. As her surroundings change and she tries to adapt to her new life on Paragon, she starts to learn things aren't all what she thought they were. There are ANGELS, real life angels! And she's one of them. But not just a regular one, no... she's the purest, strongest kind, a Celestra. There are several types of angels made up of factions. Celestra being the strongest. But some don't want her kind to exist, some feel threatened by the power the Cealestra hold and they will go to great lengths to ensure she doesn't fulfill her destiny. But the enemies aren't human either... they're angels too. Skyla soon realizes that the answers she so desperately seeks are closer than she expected.
Logan Oliver. Oh, Logan! He's among the first people Skyla meets on Paragon. He recognizes Skyla for what she truly is. He teaches her things about the Factions and the different powers each hold, for Logan is also a Celestra. Skyla is instantly drawn to him, and it's no wonder, I mean, the guy is H-O-T, HOT!!! He and Gage Oliver (yep, they're related) both fall for Skyla. Gage has dreamed of this beautiful girl for as long as he can remember. There becomes a bit of a love triangle. Both Logan and Gage are head over heels for Skyla, and she feels the same. Then Marshall Dudley comes along and things really get interesting. Who will end up owning Skyla's heart?
This series is a wild ride! There is so much action and love and just, everything you could ask for in a book/series! It's a very fast-paced read and will have you clinging to your seat and holding on for dear life, to crying your heart out at others, to completely melting you into a puddle! You'll fall in love with these amazing characters, and you'll be glad there's plenty more books to read! There are a total of 8 books in this series, and also 2 Bonus reads: "Ethereal Knights" (which is Ethereal from Logan & Gage's point of view), AND "Perfect Love" (which I can't tell you what it's about cuz it would give spoilers from some of the other books. But you won't want to miss this one!). Then... Skyla grows up. And there is a whole new series, the "Celestra Forever After Series" (New Adult, not YA like Celestra) which takes you into Skyla's adult life! All of these AMAZING books detail Skyla's incredible journey, and what a journey it is! This is an absolute MUST READ series!!!
Then, as I mentioned, it moves on to the New Adult Series as Skyla and all her cohorts have now grown up a bit.
Celestra Forever After was amazing, I loved it...
The Dragon and the Rose... Gah! Words cannot do it justice!
From the moment it started till I turned the last page, I was intrigued, entranced, completely under its spell. I've never had a book evoke so many emotions in me. And I've read some REALLY good books, I've had book hangovers too. But The Dragon and the Rose took it to a whole new level! I laughed, I cried, I screamed (in both joy and horror), and I almost choked to death, literally! I was taking a drink of water as I read and came across this one part that cracked me up so hard that water sprayed out of my mouth! It went everywhere too! All over my Kindle, which thankfully survived the blast, and just everywhere! So please refrain from drinking and reading, at least with this book, lol. There are so many funny parts, but that's not all... It's hot and steamy, yummy and sexy, there's romance, mystery, suspense and sorrow. It's a roller coaster ride that keeps you guessing at every turn. This book tore me open and put me back together. And I don't know if I'll ever be the same! I'm going to be a wreck until the next book comes along! Can you say "CLIFFHANGER?" How about THREE!!!
Addison Moore nailed it with this one. I'm kinda worried about the next book in the series, because how could she outdo THIS?! But I know if anyone can do it, it's Addison. I have complete faith in her, she's remarkably talented!
*I'm not so great at describing the storyline without giving away spoilers. And since this book has not even released yet, I forgoed doing so. However, as soon as the excerpt is available from the author I will post it.
